Hello! I am Jay Zachary
I started Forward with the goal of helping people help themselves and preparing them for the future. I’ve always been a “helper,” and a great listener, and through my many roles in life, that’s never changed. Now I’m able to draw from what I’m great at and make others better in the process.
I’m a hardworking father of two, and a husband. I was born of humble beginnings in Columbia, SC. Because of hardships in early adulthood, and with family life, college was placed on the back-burner. I worked 2-3 jobs at times to make ends meet, and fell into a deep depression. One college professor took a keen interest in me, acted as a therapist, and helped me through the tough times. It took me 12 years to graduate, but I finished. During the same year of my graduation, I married, and took a leadership position with a Fortune 500 company.
Realizing quickly that I wasn’t fulfilled in this role, my anxiety grew exponentially over time. I sought out help. I spoke with a therapist who helped me put things into perspective, and helped me to help myself feel free. During this interaction, and the prior one, I noticed that I loved the idea of helping people, and had been doing it my whole life through my vocational activities, volunteer work, church, and through other civic organizations. I am here now to help others free themselves, and allow them to move Forward.
